A vital component of Pongratz Orthotics & Prosthetic's comprehensive services includes pre-operative counseling. Our amputee patient liaison, Tyler Ritchey, became a traumatic below-the-knee amputee in September 2000 as a result of a car/ pedestrian accident in Mexico City. Upon his return to the United States, Tyler began his prosthetic recovery when he met prosthetist and Pongratz O&P founder, Joe Pongratz.

As amputee liaison, physicians may request Tyler visit with patients who are contemplating amputation as a treatment option, or who have already undergone an amputation. Tyler is able to relate to their concerns, and answer common questions about their recovery process based on his experiences.
